The International Award Association is the governing body for all countries that offer DofE programmes, including the UK. Originally the UK DofE managed all overseas programmes and the International Award Association was formed in 1988.
DofE programmes now operate in over 120 countries under a variety of titles including, for example, The International Award for Young People, The President’s Award, and The National Youth Achievement Award. Whilst the title may vary, the underlying philosophy and basic principles of operation are the same.
