The products
Endurance Trekker and Women’s Endurance Trekker socks are midweight socks designed for extended backpacking, trekking and hiking in any season. They feature tough WoolFusion ® for durable performance and will ensure your feet stay dry, warm and comfortable – mile after mile.
Coolmax and Women’s Coolmax Liners provide extra comfort and dryness next to the skin. By using Coolmax® the moisture wicking performance will give dry feet when used as a base layer under socks. The fine-knit soft Coolmax® microfibres help prevent blisters, soreness and allergies and offer a superior level of comfort when used together with the Endurance Trekker range of socks.
Why specialist socks are so important:
Bridgedale prides itself on making socks that fit and stay fitted time after time. Just as it is important to select the right boots or shoes for your chosen activity, it is just as important to have the right fitting socks. Your boots are only as good as the socks inside them! Blisters are an ever-occurring problem on Expeditions and prevention is better than cure. The chances of blistering can be reduced by ensuring that footwear is well broken in and wearing suitable socks. Socks cushion the feet, absorb perspiration and provide insulation against the cold so 2 pairs are normally worn, or 1 pair of socks with a good quality liner, and several spare pairs should be carried. Bridgedale Endurance Trekker socks are recommended as they are tough, light and breathable and will not let you down.
Bridgedale’s hugely popular Women’s range of socks are not just alternative colours of the standard range. Women typically have a higher instep, narrower heel and lower volume foot than men. To significantly improve the design and fit of our Women’s socks we have made our Women’s socks lower volume, to improve the fit around the heel, instep and general width.
Both Bridgedale and the Award have conducted extensive field testing and have earmarked these products as being performance led, easy to use and suitable for the variable conditions encountered by DofE Participants and leaders.
