Yorkshire Dales Open Gold Expedition: A chance for you to experience the beautiful countryside of Yorkshire whilst completing your Gold D of E Expedition. We are back at Stainforth again for the 2010 event which has been arranged for the week 21-27th August 2010 at a cost of £140 for the week. Based at Hornby Laithe, near Settle, this Open Gold is becoming a popular location for Gold participants to undertake their Expedition Assessment. The venue offers excellent facilities, and is easily accessible by public transport. The week is staffed by volunteers from the Yorkshire Dales/Pennines Expedition Network and supported by the Yorkshire & Humber DofE Region.  To register your interest and to obtain a pack about the week please email yorksandhumber@dofe.org  putting “YDOG 10” in the subject line.

North York Moors Open Gold Expedition: A chance to experience the open countryside and moors of North Yorkshire during this Open Gold week being organised by a team from the North Yorks Moors Expedition Area. Building on the success of last years Open Gold Expedition, the 2010 programme will operate from the recently refurbished Outdoor Centre at Carlton in Cleveland, North Yorkshire. OPEN GOLD EXPEDITION: The Boys’ Brigade, in partnership with the DofE - Dartmoor Assessor Network, are organising an Open Gold Expedition (journeying and exploring opportunities available) on Dartmoor during 21 - 27 August 2010. Based at Broadleas Camping and Training Centre, Haytor, Devon, and staffed by accredited assessors, this is an excellent opportunity to link in with other individuals and groups to complete a qualifying or full practice journey. Open Canoe Expeditions: The Severn and Wye Area Network will be running a practice and qualifying Open Canoe Expedition for individual participants who wish to complete their expedition by canoe. These opportunities are open to competent canoeists only. Applications will only be accepted from individuals, whole teams will not be accepted. Open Gold: Brathay Exploration Group. The Lake District has to be one of the most stunning locations in which to do your Gold Expedition. In the first week you will cover the skills necessary for operating as a team in the wild country area of the Lake District, including realistic practice expeditions.
