ASTHMA UK: There are 3 Kick-Asthma holidays in summer 2010 for children aged 7-11 and 12-16. These week-long holidays allow children to meet other children with asthma, have fun doing activities like kayaking and abseiling whilst learning about their asthma. Volunteers who are 18 or over are needed to help run activities and help the children with their medications. Full training is provided, so no prior knowledge of asthma is needed. It is an ideal way to complete your gold residential, all expenses are paid and it's so much fun!! HELP ON YHA SUMMER CAMPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE: The role is as a Volunteer Team Assistant on the Do it 4 Real summer camps. It is an exciting opportunity supporting the young people on the camps and encouraging them to get involved. The volunteer also has the chance to take part in all the activities on offer. HELPING RUN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES: There are a limited number of opportunities at Kilve Court Residential Education Centre during the Summer 2010. They will be regarded as junior members of staff and help facilitate the organisation of the summer holiday courses. Any person interested in undertaking one of these inexpensive opportunities should telephone the Office at Kilve Court (01278 741270) as soon as possible to request a leaflet and application form. There are only a few places available on each course so early application is advised to avoid disappointment. The cost is around £99 for the week which covers all food and accommodation. 
HELPING DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN: CHICKS offer residential respite breaks for disadvantaged children aged 8-15 from across the UK and look for up to 8 volunteers to support the residential. We organise outdoor activities & team building games create a rewarding and challenging experience in a fun and safe environment for children who would not otherwise have a holiday. The Newman Holiday Trust: Residential weeks where you can be part of a team to care for children with disabilities from disadvantaged backgrounds. The holidays run as part-time children’s homes in the summer holidays and provide 1 to 1 care with full onsite medical support. During the week you will receive training then accompany the children to theme parks, horse riding, swimming, outdoor pursuits centers and much much more. If you are 16 – 18 then your role would be as a support carer to provide valuable breaks to the other volunteers. If you are over 18 then you would be paired full-time with a child. The holidays are tremendous fun where you can really help these children, make friends and learn a great deal. HELP ON 'SENSE'HOLIDAYS: Sense (the National Deafblind and Rubella Association). runs 25 holidays each year to enable over 100 deafblind children and adults to have a unique holiday. We need volunteers to support these deafblind people. Volunteers can learn new skills, explore new ways of communicating, improve their team skills and have a unique holiday. Each holiday is 7 days, residential. The holidays are all over England, and Sense pays for food and accomodation as well as training.
