ODYSSIANS CAMP: A 7 night residential volunteering opportunity to join a camping holiday and assist physically disabled adults aged between 18-35. Odyssians is the name of a group, which takes over Woodlarks Camp Site, located in Farnham Surrey. It’s the only designated campsite catering exclusively for people with physical disabilities in England. £100 all inclusive. It’s an energetic week with activities planned to include a day out in Brighton, wall climbing, disco, karaoke, swimming in the outdoor heated pool, trampolining, aerial runway, camp fires, BBQ and much more. Our dedicated catering team produce all the food you can eat which is included in the price. You’ll be allocated into small teams to help take care of all the needs of the disabled campers within your group e.g. feeding, dressing, swimming, having a laugh etc. Many campers and helpers alike come back year after year, gaining valuable experience that can be taken into any situation you may encounter in life. It is the challenge, not of a lifetime, but of the year, that way you can come back next year and do it all over again if you’ve enjoyed it! JUBILEE SAILING TRUST: The Jubilee Sailing Trust is a unique charity whose aim is the integration of disabled and able bodied people; bringing them together for off shore adventure sailing holidays, aboard two specially designed tall ships. BREAKS HOLIDAY HELPERS: Looking for somewhere for your Gold residential? We have a number of places available during this year Breaks Scheme. The BREAKS Holiday Scheme is an exciting Outdoor Activities Holiday Scheme undertaken by Nottinghamshire County Council, for children and young people with a physical or learning disabilities. Activities: A diverse range of activities will take place during the Breaks, a stimulating environment for personal growth, development, excitement, individual challenge and confidence. We will be running a variety of land and water activities including sailing, canoeing, white water rafting, climbing, and swimming. We require young people to live and work at the camp, providing support and care for Break's participants, alongside our Support Workers. We provide tent accommodation, food, and plenty of fun, all for a total cost of £40 per week. HELP ON DISABLED PEOPLE'S CAMPS: Trekkers camp is a one week camping holiday for males and females with physical disabilities, aged 30-60. People from all backgrounds come together to enjoy the countryside, each others’ company, some excitement and challenge, and to have a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Caring on Trekkers Camp is hard work but extremely rewarding. Trekkers has sole use of the Woodlarks Campsite, Farnham. The site includes a heated swimming pool, aerial runway, trampoline, nature walks and a large dining and games room in case of bad weather. Woodlarks is built specifically for use by people with physical disabilities. Trekkers is supported by volunteers who give their time and commitment to assist and care for the camp’s disabled participants. Volunteers are not qualified carers, but training is provided and many have had several years experience of helping on similar camps, and are on hand to show new recruits the ropes.
