OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES: Gold Residential places available at Carlton Lodge Outdoor Centre, Carlton Miniott, Thirsk, North Yorkshire YO7 4DH. The residential programme runs from 1pm on 16 August until 2pm 20th August 2010 for 18 year olds and older only,  at a fully inclusive price of £150 ; this includes food, accommodation and a programme that will consist a day and two half days of adventurous activities at our 12 acre site and two days of conservation work in an area that includes two lakes, two ponds within a wooded area with paths leading to various activity sites. You will get the chance to do canoeing, kayaking and improvised rafting on our lake and to complete the High Ropes Course and Zip Wire during your time with us. Residential Opportunity to combine conservation with Adventure Activities: Sayers croft is please to offer an opportunity to complete your Gold residential here at our centre based in Surrey. We are running two courses in August 2010 9th – 13th & 16th – 20th . The week will consist of adventure activities such as our high ropes course, zip wire and archery combined with conservation work. These activities will gain participants a John Muir Discovery award as well as their residential section signed off. The cost of the week is £150. This includes all activities, food, bedding and accommodation but not travel to the centre. A minibus will do a pick up from Guildford Station. Residential Opportunities, Broadhaven Youth Hostel, Pembrokeshire: The DofE in Wales and the YHA have teamed up to offer the following residential weeks providing opportunities to learn to surf, explore the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastal path and contribute to the conservation of the area. 6th – 10th September 2010.  Cost of residential £215 which includes all meals (including breakfast, packed lunches and evening meals), accommodation and all activities. The residential will meet the criteria for the Gold DofE Award but please remember that you should aim to join the residential as an individual – group bookings will not be accepted. PADI Junior Scuba Diver course:  Camp Beaumont, the original summer camp for children and teenagers, has introduced a brand new PADI Junior Scuba Diver course for 2010. Perfect for water sports enthusiasts and children who want to learn to dive, this course will enable youngsters to get to grips with some scuba basics and is the newest addition to Camp Beaumont’s mix of adventurous activities. This course combines professional PADI dive tuition (at a supplement of £189) with a Multi-Activity holiday (costing from £479 per child per week), during July and August, featuring exhilarating adventure activities like abseiling, climbing, quad biking and much more.  The scuba diving course is designed for kids to get to grips with diving essentials such as equipment set-up and safety, snorkelling, mask clearing and de-kitting underwater. Children work towards completing the referral certificate for the PADI Junior Open Water course. Once the course has been completed, children will be able to carry on to the final stage of their qualification at their local PADI school, with their four final open water dives, prior to full qualification. The course is aimed at 10-17 year olds and is available at both the Pinewood Sands camp, North Norfolk and Grosvenor Hall in Ashford, Kent. Whether its exploring the awesome cave networks of South Wales or experiencing the 'rush' of surfing your first wave in a kayak, this will be a memorable week that will test your character and help you to develop new friendships, new skills and more confidence. Residential Opportunity at Llanrug Outdoor Education Centre owned and operated by Worcestershire County Council, situated on the edge of Snowdonia National Park providing high quality adventurous activities and outdoor education. HELPING RUN OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES: There are a limited number of opportunities at Kilve Court Residential Education Centre during the Summer 2010. They will be regarded as junior members of staff and help facilitate the organisation of the summer holiday courses. Any person interested in undertaking one of these inexpensive opportunities should telephone the Office at Kilve Court (01278 741270) as soon as possible to request a leaflet and application form. There are only a few places available on each course so early application is advised to avoid disappointment. The cost is around £99 for the week which covers all food and accommodation.
