Christmas Party has the X Factor
X Factor finalist and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participant Lloyd Daniels had our DofE supporters dancing in the aisles at the annual fundraising Christmas Lunch just four days after leaving the competition. The 16-year-old singer was joined on the bill by the National Youth Ballet, which also included some DofE Award participants, and by comedian Jim Bowen.
Lloyd wowed guests with some of the songs that kept him in the competition so long and charmed his way into the audience’s hearts. After being introduced to the Countess of Wessex he mingled with the guests and was a true gent, signing autographs and having his photo taken.

Lloyd first came to the public’s attention when Cheryl Cole championed him at the Cardiff audition and she said “The girls are going to absolutely love you … You are the first person I’m going to say you’ve got The X Factor to!"

Before going on to the X Factor, Lloyd had only ever performed in school plays but is now an accomplished performer, as he showed on the day. The singer said “I just want to get out there gigging now. I can’t wait until the X Factor tour next year”.
Let’s hope with such a bright future, he still has time to complete his Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award!
