Climate Change Champs come to Windsor
The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) launched a national competition across
England to find nine outstanding young people, aged 11-18, to become the next Climate Change Champions for 2007/08. The winning Champions have attended a European climate change expedition in the
Netherlands and have met senior Government and international representatives to talk about the issue.
Three of the champs who are currently doing their DofE spent the morning at the
Windsor offices yesterday (23rd July). The crusading Champs worked on an exciting Climate Change Program to inspire leaders and participants to follow in their footsteps and reduce global warming. In the afternoon the young ambassadors and their chaperones enjoyed a VIP eco-tour of
Windsor
Castle, with a discussion on the carbon footprint of the Royal Household.
