Grassroot success as young people are on the ball

The first group of young people have achieved their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award through Peterborough’s DofE partnership. They were presented a club certificate of achievement on pitch at half time in Peterborough’s game against Barnsley on Saturday (31st October) and had the opportunity for a team photo with Posh goalkeeper Joe Lewis.

Youth charity The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and The Football League Trust launched the ground breaking national partnership last year. The project has been inspiring, enthusing and motivating young people to achieve a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award through football across England and Wales.

This collaboration has been building on young people’s passion for football and the expertise of one of the UK’s most highly regarded youth charities to help young people aged 14-24 to achieve the world’s leading achievement award for young people.

The sixteen young people are part of a group of twenty who will receive their bronze certificates at a presentation evening on Wednesday 4th November at Peterborough FC.
