Gold Award Presentations are usually held once a year in Scotland in the gardens of the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Important information for people attending a Gold Award presentation
It is essential that anybody attending a Gold Award Presentation in Scotland brings along two forms of identification with them on the day of the presentation, one of which must be photographic. If you are attending a presentation and do not possess two forms of identification, you must call the Scottish Office before the event to let us know.

I am not able to attend the Presentation, what do I need to do?
It is essential that if you are not able to attend the presentation in Scotland that you write to the Scottish Office confirming whether you wish to be transferred to the next available presentation or if you would like to have your certificate sent out to you by post. If you decide you wish to attend the next available presentation then we will write to you approximately three months before the new date. Please be aware that due to the volume of Award recipients it is only possible to issue an invitation to three different presentations. If you decline an invitation on three occasions we will send your certificate to you by post.

Is it essential for ladies to wear a hat?
No. It is not compulsory to wear a hat and it is also possible for ladies to wear a trouser suit.
Can I have an extra invitation?
No. Due to space restrictions Award recipients are only allowed to be accompanied by two personal guests (Scotland only. Recipients being presented in London are only entitled to bring one personal guest). Also, all guests must be over the age of 16 years old.
How long does the cermoney last?
There is one ceremony in the morning and one in the. The Award ceremony itself usually lasts about one hour.
What time should I arrive?
The gates open three quarters of an hour before the ceremony begins and all participants and guests are asked to be in position fifteen minutes before the ceremony begins (see your admittance cards). Marshals will be assigned to each group to explain the arrangements.
Are there seats available?
Seating can be provided if necessary, please see one of your group marshals on arrival. For people with mobility difficulties, it is possible to drive a car to the entrance of the Palace for drop off and pick up, but for security reasons this must be arranged with the Scottish Office in advance of the presentation.
