Without the support of our donors, it would be inconceivable for the DofE to work with so many young people across the United Kingdom. Irrespective of how they get involved or the amount they give, our family of supporters provides us with the confidence to plan for the future and to be bold and enterprising in the way we do things.
Do you have an Award and want to give something back? Do you want to raise funds for the DofE? Are you keen on backing a Charity that highlights the achievements of young people and not their shortcomings? We strive to provide something that suits everybody.
Join the Charter
Our
Charter Programme brings together a committed group of supporters who share our vision as a charity and enjoy a special relationship with the DofE and with each other.
We take the utmost care in ensuring that all our supporters get the most out of their involvement with us, seeing first-hand our work, enjoying unique entertainment opportunities, and deriving the recognition they deserve for their generosity.
We are fortunate enough to count a number of philanthropic individuals amongst our supporters, including David Pearl, Claire Owen and Gordon and Hillary Phillips.
Tax Efficient Giving
Gift Aid allows us to reclaim the basic rate tax you have already paid on the money you donate. It can increase the value of your gift by up to 28p on every pound or 40p if you pay higher tax rate. That means that for every pound you give away, you can get 18p back from the taxman – which you can keep, or give to charity.
If your employer offers a payroll giving scheme such as Give As You Earn, your donation to the DofE can be taken from your salary at source before tax. Contact us to find out more.
Give shares
If you want to give shares you could earn a double tax benefit – your gift will be exempt from Capital Gains Tax, and you can also reduce your taxable income by the market value of the shares. For example, if you are a higher rate taxpayer and donate shares valued £1,000, you could claim up to £400 Income Tax relief as well as saving up to £400 in Capital Gains Tax.
Challenge Events
Share the sense of adventure, teamwork and discovery all young people enjoy while doing their DofE programme by participating in our exciting calendar of
Challenge Events. After all, we have been specialists in expeditions since 1956…

Support Generations to Come
Many of our supporters share our charity’s genuine passion for inspiring young people in their self-development and recognising their successes. Remembering The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in your will is an amazing way for your generosity to last beyond your own lifetime. This will help future generations of young people to develop skills and to transform their lives.
