Dragon Boat Championships organising team: The European Dragon Boat Championships is in Nottingham this year. The event will take place from 26th July – 30th July 2012 and will attract over 1000 competitors from across Europe. Accommodation will be camping and you must be over 18 to attend. You will be part of a volunteering team that will help to run the event; we can offer full board and entrance to end of competition party for just £150. The other option is to self-cater for £36 and purchase meals on site. Please email p-griffiths2@sky.com for more information. 


Earth wind and fire - Yoga and the outdoors: Monday 23 – Friday 27 July 2012
This residential is based at the Hampshire County Council mountain centre in the Brecon Beacons. Practice yoga and meditation every day; learn about the chakra system; visit standing stones, stone circles and cairns; watch the sunrise and sunset; plan your own creative activities inspired by the great outdoors; participate in preparing and cooking your own food. The cost for the residential is £300 (£280 for Hampshire County Council registered DofE participants). This includes transport to and from Hampshire (or a pick up from Abergavenny) and during the week; accommodation and food and yoga tuition with an IYT qualified yoga teacher. Concordia Overseas: Concordia organises volunteer projects aboard and in the UK. We work in close co-operation with over 80 partner organisations worldwide and offer opportunities for all. Our international Volunteer Programme offers volunteers aged 18+ the opportunity to join international teams of volunteers working on short-term projects in over 60 counties worldwide. A selection of projects is available for teenagers aged 16 – 17. Projects include conservation, restoration, archaeology, construction, arts, children’s’ play-schemes and teaching. Projects last for 2-4 weeks with the main season June- September. Volunteers pay a registration fee of £150 and fund their own travel and insurance.
