Alexandra Campbell LLB, IML

Hi! I’m Alex Campbell, I live near Monmouth where I have been based since 1990. I am employed part time at a school where I co-ordinate and organize outdoor activities and deal with the administration that is incurred with adventurous training.

For the past 15 years I have been involved with the DofE and have provided expedition training, and supervised both practice and qualifying expeditions, at all three levels of the DofE. I have been responsible for the co-ordination and running of an Operating Authority at an Independent School. I am also a DofE Accredited Expedition Assessor and as such I am up to date and have current knowledge of all aspects of the Expedition section.

I have organised and run Gold Qualifying expeditions in the Alps and the Pyrenees as well as much closer to home – in the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons, Dartmoor, Cumbria, Scotland – in fact anywhere where the participants at Gold wish to make their challenge!

I am happy to become involved in any aspect of your DofE Expedition section at any of the three levels. Bronze, Silver or Gold. I can offer classroom sessions to cover the various pre-requisites of the section such as maps and map reading, countryside code, safety and emergency procedures, food and nutrition, choice of route and route cards.

In the better weather I am happy to be out supervising cooking, tent erection and the practical side of things.

If you and your group need a helping hand please contact me and I will hope to be of assistance. I charge costs to cover my expenses and a small fee per participant. Tailor-made training.

The experience and life skills gained by young people involved in a DofE expedition are of great value, the confidence and self-reliance acquired set them in good stead for the future.
