Gold assessment expeditions in Morocco
We provide challenging but rewarding gold assessment expeditions in the valleys, mountains and deserts of Morocco. Not only do our expeditions fulfill the DofE's 20 conditions for the Expedition section but you will also have the opportunity to experience and immerse yourself in a different culture. Our expeditions start from £215 per participant and include a free place for a teacher/accompanying adult.
Why go on expedition with us?
Berber Treks was set up by Georgina Hobbs and is a small, friendly company which specialises in organising expeditions in Morocco. To ensure your safety on expedition Georgina is a qualified International Mountain Leader and an Accredited Expedition Assessor. Georgina has been travelling and leading groups in Morocco since 2001 and works alongside experienced local guides to ensure the smooth running of your assessment.
What happens on assessment?
We will suggest appropriate trekking routes for your group according to the level of your fitness, but here's an example assessment in Morocco; arrive in Marrakesh and stay overnight in a 3* hotel, next morning go on a supermarket shop before an hours bus journey to the start of your pre-assessment acclimatisation trek day, 4 day assessment in the Atlas mountains, Berber celebration dinner staying overnight in a rural gite and final sightseeing day in De Jemma el Fna. Participants are required to carry all of their camping equipment, cook their own meals, carry out an aim and are remotely supervised by their teacher/accompanying adult and assessed by Georgina.
