The Scaladale Centre is a residential outdoor activity centre located on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. The Centre is owned and run by the Lewis and Harris Youth Clubs Association (LHYCA), a company registered as a Scottish Charity.
We provide professional instruction to groups and individuals who are planning to undertake Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions for DofE participants. We also hold an AALA licence.
We offer bespoke training, supervising and assessment and every group that comes to Scaladale gets the full attention of our Chief Instructor. The terrain and landscape of our island ranges from the mountainous seascape of Harris to the rolling moorlands of Lewis.
The Scaladale Centre is fully equipped to offer expedition kit such as tents, rucksacks, stoves, fuel, group shelters, compasses, maps, etc.
We believe that our activities should be inspirational and challenging, building confidence, determination and initiative in participants.
