Who are we?
Mountain Sojourns a small dedicated walking company with 25 years experience of delivering expeditions to young people, have solutions for all your DofE Expedition section needs.
Run by Fiona Mullan, highly experienced instructor of outdoor activities, ex-teacher and holder of the International Mountain Leader Qualification.
Where do we operate?
The beautiful, majestic Mournes Mountains which “sweep down to the sea”, are boarded to the east by the Irish Sea, north by the glorious Tollymore Forest Park and to the south by the Kilbroney Forest Park and Carlingford Lough. The area is an ideal training and final expedition training ground for all levels of the DofE expedition element…beautiful, plenty of interest for purpose and walking, tranquil campsites.
- Open Silver Final Assessed Expedition in Mournes -Sunday 7th August training top up day. Expedition Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th August. Cost £140 ppp
- Open Gold Final Assessed Expedition in Mournes – Sunday 21st training top up day. Expedition Monday 22nd to Thursday 25th August. Cost £180 ppp
What's included?
Use of group equipment, local pick-up and drop–off, travel associated with expedition, self-catering accommodation night before expedition (if appropriate), Instruction and supervision (on practice expeditions) Supervision and Assessment on Assessed expeditions.
