Gold Award Presentation
Last Wednesday saw another amazing Gold Award Presentation take place at St. James’s Palace in London.  Over 700 young people travelled to the palace for the morning and afternoon ceremonies, accompanied by their guests.
The ceremony was attended by HRH The Earl of Wessex who presented the young people with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award certificates.  The Earl of Wessex is a Trustee of the DofE Charity and is himself a Gold Award holder.
A selection of special guests also attended helping the young people to celebrate their achievements.  Famous faces included actor, writer and theatre director Simon Callow, television presenter Kirsten O’Brien and BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood.
There was also a separate presentation to The Navy Training Corps who received their DofE Operating Authority License which allows them to run the DofE nationally.
It was the second of four Gold Award Presentations taking place this Autumn with the final two coming up later this month.
