Helping young people unlock their potential and build a brighter future.

The Pears family have supported The Duke of Edinburgh's Award for ten years, initially through William Pears property company, then generously through the Pears Foundation. From the first they have taken a keen interest in the work of our Charity, and their support has made a real difference as, over the years, they have supported Community Cohesion projects, Multicultural Projects, a video explaining our cause to new donors and the independent Impact Research.
They have now generously pledged a quarter of a million pounds for the next year to support our core work and strategic growth, with and emphasis on ensuring that more young people who start their DofE actually have the necessary support and encouragement to achieve their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.
Pears Foundation is a British family foundation rooted in Jewish values. Much of their work is concerned with identity and citizenship.
Trevor Pears, CMG - Executive Chairman of Pears Foundation (pictured above with HRH The Earl of Wessex), explains his rationale for giving as:
"We have become firm believers in using research and evaluation. It assists us in understanding whether we are making a positive and sustainable impact. It can highlight where things are, and also where they could be.
“Our Foundation is proud to have deepened its support for the DofE this year. The Impact Research that we funded established beyond doubt the profound impact The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is having on young people. This insight is now helping shape the charity's thinking to ensure as many participants as possible are supported to complete their DofE. We are pleased to be playing our part in assisting so many young people in achieving their potential."
