Forth Rail Bridge Abseil Challenge

This year's Awesome Abseil was a great success with over 300 participated on the day, 130 of them were abseiling for the DofE in Scotland. We had support from 6 other charities. The abseil was in partnership with the Rotary Club who had 170 participants this year.
Thirty of our abseilers chose to donate some of their funds to their own DofE group, meaning that money has been distributed to groups right across Scotland.
We had 14 people from the Scottish Gas call centre, including the loudest screamer of the day!
There was a great atmosphere throughout the day with nobody’s nerves getting the better of them and even some people in fancy dress (including one brave man in a kilt!)
The Best Fundraising DofE group were 5 participants from Gifford/Haddington Open Group (leader Kim White) who raised over £1300 for their group. They also had the best Fundraiser for the DofE- Jack Thomson who raised a whopping £735!!
It is events like this that keeps the DofE running in Scotland so we want you to know that we appreciate all your efforts. Thank you so much to everyone who took part or to those who gave in sponsorship to help one of the abseilers.
