The following are (generally) specific dated open expedition training opportunities.  Our Approved Activity Providers offer a range of services to help you undertake expedition training.

Harbour Challenge Outdoor Education Centre is based on Brownsea Island in the heart of Poole Harbour, Poole, Dorset and will be running Silver Open Training Expeditions in walking, sailing and kayaking in 2012. We are starting the season at Easter and the Silver training starts on Monday 2nd  of April cost per person for Five days is £175 for walking and £180 for sailing, kayaking and canoeing. Expeditions Wales is offering a range of expedition training opportunities for Bronze, Silver and Gold walking or cycling participants in new areas during 2012 including Snowdonia, Shropshire, the Welsh Borders and the South Downs. Remote First Aid: We teach wilderness and remote area first aid courses suitable for both leaders and participants and that meet many Outdoor NGB qualifications. 1 day, 2 day and 4 day courses available on regular monthly open programme in Brecon, Gloucester, Reading, Swindon and Snowdonia. Gold expedition training for individuals: Join one of our Open Gold training and practice weeks and ensure you are fully prepared for your qualifying expedition Dates:  Cairngorms Dates: 20th to 25th June. BRECON BEACONS: Training opportunities for groups at all levels of the DofE in expedition skills (navigation, campcraft and first aid), open canoeing and kayaking at Longtown Outdoor Education Centre. High quality, comfortable accommodation with full board for up to 55 and camping facilities set in beautiful surroundings on the eastern edge of the National Park. Minimum group size 8. DISCOVER NAVIGATION - This one day course covers the essentials of a map and compass use in the hills. It is mostly practical, out and about in the hills of the Peak District. All participants receive detailed course materials for free which includes lots of exercises for improving your navigation after the course. You are welcome to come on the course with  little or no experience at all and, hopefully at the end you will have the confidence to use your new found skills to explore the Peak District and beyond. All our staff are dedicated hillwalkers and mountaineers, and have a great depth of knowledge of the local area. They are qualified and experienced in teaching at all levels, and will be keen to pass on their knowledge to you.
