BRECON BEACONS: Training opportunities for groups at all levels of the DofE in expedition skills (navigation, campcraft and first aid), open canoeing and kayaking at Longtown Outdoor Education Centre. DISCOVER NAVIGATION - This one day course covers the essentials of a map and compass use in the hills. It is mostly practical, out and about in the hills of the Peak District. All participants receive detailed course materials for free which includes lots of exercises for improving your navigation after the course. You are welcome to come on the course with little or no experience at all and, hopefully at the end you will have the confidence to use your new found skills to explore the Peak District and beyond. All our staff are dedicated hillwalkers and mountaineers, and have a great depth of knowledge of the local area.
