DEAMS for Groups: Download this file (70mb), unzip it and open the folder [Deams Installation] (if you don't have broadband, or if your system cannot download the full 70mb file, please use the form below to request a CD)

If you are unable to access DEAMS owing to a user leaving and their account having been closed by your IT department then please download a working aid here to give to your IT department.

Installing over previous installations

If you are re-installing DEAMS on a machine that already has a copy of DEAMs or DEAMS for Groups installed on it then please print off the file named DeamsII35Upgrade.pdf

Please then follow these instructions, using the zip file to install DEAMS 3.5 and the exe file to install the 3.6 patch.

Note: Failure to follow these instructions when re-installing DEAMS will lose all existing passwords to access the system.

Installing DEAMS for the first time

If you are installing DEAMS for the first time then please double click on the zip file and follow all of the instructions on the screen.

Upgrading your installation

When the installation finishes please then double click on the exe file in the DEAMS or DEAMS for Groups folder, this will then install the DEAMS 3.6 patch.

This should unzip 4 files and copy them over the existing files to upgrade DEAMS to the latest version.

Once DEAMS has been installed on to your computer, it then needs to be registered before it can be used.

After the 1st of July 2009 it will no longer be possible to register DEAMS with Henley Software and so the procedures in the Bypass Registration Document must be used.

The Bypass Registration procedure will not affect your use of the software and is fully authorised by the DofE.

Having done this you are now ready to start using DEAMS.

Restoring data from previous databases

If you need to use data from a previous database, if for example you are restoring DEAMS after a computer failure or replacement then you will be able to use the data provided that:

  • The data was backed up and is still secure
  • The system that you backed up from was from DEAMS version 3

Go into System Admin

Click on Restore

Search for your back up file and then follow the instructions on screen to restore your data.
