Gold Award Presentations (GAPs) take place in Scotland, Northern Ireland and London throughout the year. Every year around 6,000 young people recieve their Gold Award certificate in the presence of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh or HRH The Earl of Wessex at a prestigious Royal palace. Whilst the DofE itself undertakes pro-active PR activity regarding these events, we encourage Gold Award holders to contact their local newspapers in order to provide a great local story of a positive nature, regarding young people in the community.
