Outdoor Eating app

welcome to The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Outdoor Eating app.

Introduced by Mat Follas, 2009 Masterchef winner, the DofE have joined forces with CookStuff and Parragon Books to create a mobile app, exclusively for the iphone, featuring 80 recipes for everyone who enjoys the great outdoors.

With recipes for campers, family days out and backpackers the app is about introducing new and old favourite recipes which are ideal for outdoor eating, providing simple ways to liven up a meal whether it’s cooked over an open fire or portable ring burner.

The app allows users to filter recipes providing something for everyone, whether it’s a main meal or snack, or a vegetarian or meat dish, or requires refrigeration or not, or can be prepared in 10 minutes or less!

Other features of the app allow you to store your favourite recipes, prepare a day planner and download a shopping list in the ‘My Stuff’ area. And then in ‘Extras’ there’s loads of really useful information on key bits of kitchen equipment to take, some simple food basics to liven up meals and a conversion table if you have forgotten your weighing scales!

So enjoy!

Did you know...?

When you buy a product from one of our partners through the DofE Expedition kit list or The Marketplace, the DofE Charity receives a small royalty for each purchase. The DofE receives no money unless you buy the products from these brand supporters.
We can’t always guarantee that it will be the best price all the time. We can guarantee that the discounts offered in the Marketplace will be here all year round to fit when you want to buy them.
The more money we can raise, the more we can keep costs down and the more young people we can help to do their DofE.
