Supervision and safety

Your child’s wellbeing and safety is a priority. DofE Licensed Organisations (LOs), which run DofE programmes, must have sufficient policies and procedures in place and must ensure their Leaders and Expedition Supervisors and Assessors are trained to high standards. LOs must also have insurance – the DofE provides limited personal accident insurance.

It’s your responsibility to ensure that DofE activities are properly managed and insured and that the adults involved are suitably qualified and checked – please ask your local DofE centre for details. DofE Leaders are sensitive to participants’ individual cultural, religious, physical and other requirements.
