Dr Naim Dangoor set up the Exilarch’s Foundation 50 years ago to promote education and Jewish causes. He named the charity ‘Exilarch’ after his self-appointed title as leader of Iraqi Jews in Britain. Since 2004 they have run a series of scholarships scheme to encourage young people from deprived backgrounds to continue into higher education. The foundation also sponsors Westminster Academy. In 2015, the Exilarch’s Foundation pledged to support the DofE’s work with disadvantaged young people and joined the Diamond Leaders group.
