New Funding

Organisation: Wooden Spoon Grants (UK)

Grant size: No minimum or maximum grant levels, but it is unlikely that projects of a physical nature under £5,000 in value will have sufficient substance and scale to qualify under the “projected life span” criteria. Up to 100% funding may be granted; the average grant is £20,000

Who can apply: Third Sector Organisations, schools, colleges, statutory bodies, clubs, and community groups.

To be used for: Capital projects such as medical treatment and recovery centres, sports and activity areas, sensory rooms and gardens, playgrounds and hydrotherapy pools as well as revenue grants to support outreach programmes for children in their communities.

Organisation: Cam and Bear Fund for Adventure

Grant size: Grants of up to £500 per applicant

Who can apply: To help financially support young people (12 to 18 years of age) who would not otherwise have the means or opportunity to experience outdoor adventures of their own.

To be used for: They typically provide grants to help pay associated fees or to fund kit and clothing.

Local Funding

Birmingham

Organisation: The City of Birmingham Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Association

Grant Size: £20 – £100 for individuals

Who can apply: Applicants who belong to an Award Unit in the City of Birmingham which includes parts of Sutton Coldfield and Solihull.

To be used for: To support a specific section of the Award by providing a sum to enable the purchase of equipment, travel or fees.

Herefordshire

Organisation: Herefordshire Community Foundation

Grant size: £100 – over £1,000

Who can apply: Varied, depending on funding – see website for options

To be used for: Planting trees during  March or November

Organisation: London Luton Airport Ltd Small Grants Fund

Grant Size: £1,500 – £10,000

Who can apply: Community groups and charities.

To be used for: Organisations who work to address safer and stronger communities, Environment and Economic Development, Health and Wellbeing and Children and Young People.

Milton Keynes

Organisation: The National Hockey Foundation

Grant size: Between £10,000 and £75,000

Who can apply: Organisations within Milton Keynes. Please see the website for the criteria.

To be used for: Supporting hockey, young people and sport in Milton Keynes.

Norfolk

Organisation: Redhouse Youth Projects

Grant Size: Up to £2,500

Who can apply: Young people resident in Norfolk under 21. Youth Groups and Charities which have 60% of their members under 21.

To be used for: Delivering youth work / social education. Support training of adults in charities and voluntary organisations. Improvement and development of charities and voluntary organisations.

National Funding

Finances may be tight at your organisation due to the COVID-19 outbreak, however hundreds of organisations and grant-awarding bodies have funding available to support your projects.

Who can apply: Individuals, organisations, schools or colleges where the activity benefits the wider community.

To be used for: Events, productions, residences, projects and workshops etc.

Organisation: Awards 4 All

Grant size: £300 – £10,000

Who can apply: Voluntary or community organisations, registered charities, constituted group or clubs, not for profit companies or community interest companies, social enterprises, schools, statutory body (including town, parish and community council).

To be used for: Equipment, one-off events, small capital projects, staff costs, transport, utilities/running costs, volunteer expenses.

Organisation: Boshier Hinton Foundation (UK)

Grant size: Typical grants are up to £5,000. In exceptional cases, more substantial amounts may be awarded.

Who can apply: Individuals and Families and/or organisations for capital and revenue costs (SEND only).

To be used for: Improving the quality of life for children and adults with special or other needs and their families in any part of the UK.
