As part of our Youth Without Limits strategy, we aim to make the DofE more widely available and accessible.

With the generous support of our funders, we are delighted to offer Get Started funding to support organisations to start delivering the DofE, and to increase access for young people with additional needs.

English schools in IMD 1-4 areas

Funded by the Department for Education, this funding is for English schools located in an IMD 1-4 area, which are not currently licensed to deliver the DofE. Our Operations Officers will be in touch with eligible schools, which have been identified by the Department for Education.

This funding comes in a package that includes:

  • Licence fee support
  • Training package for 3 DofE Leaders
  • Bronze and Silver Participation Places
  • Expedition kit start-up

How to apply: the Operations Officer that contacts you will be able to complete an application form on your behalf.

Voluntary and community groups (not currently licensed)

Funded by the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust, we are currently conducting a research and development phase to identify how best to use this funding to support voluntary and community groups to become Licensed Organisations.

We anticipate funding will become available from 1 April 2022.

If you would like more information, get in touch with your local DofE office here.

Thank you to our funders, whose support has made Get Started funding possible:
