Angela Briggs (Cubberley)

I remember on my gold expedition being part way along swirral edge going up Helvellyn when one of the boys in my group discovered he was scared of heights. I ferried his pack to the top whilst others stayed with him. Then working together we got him to the top. Teamwork was so important.
I am now run Dofe at my school, my daughter has completed all 3 levels, my son has bronze and silver and has almost finished his gold. Despite the pandemic his resilience and that of this group is amazing. The scheme has shaped my whole life and I hope to have passed this on to my own children. Also I hope I am helping to shape the lives of young people who are completing the award under my guidance.
