Dorothy and Ian Suttie

We have been supporters of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards for several years and believe that the Award has made an incredible difference to young people’s lives all over the World. We support the work of the operational team in the North East of Scotland where the participation has greatly increased.

We first met The Duke in Edinburgh after hearing a Presentation about the benefits of participating in The Awards. There was an informal lunch afterwards and we were then presented to The Duke. He was excellent company.

We were honoured to be chosen as Silver Patrons of The Duke of Edinburgh Awards having this presented to us at Buckingham Palace by Prince Edward, The Duke of Wessex, who now represents The Duke of Edinburgh.
We met The Duke again at Windsor Castle at a Christmas Dinner held for Patrons and Donors to the Awards and on other occasions when he presented the Awards at Holyrood Palace.

At a Presentation Ceremony at Buckingham Palace The Duke was very interested in a technical invention that one of our Companies had patented.

We have very fond memories of meeting The Duke who will be sorely missed and our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this sad time.
