Baby birds of prey

A Bronze group from Stoke High School found an adorable baby bird of prey whilst out on expedition. The bird was found wandering down a footpath close to a road confused and alone.

The DofE participants thought fast, scooped it up, wrapped it in a blanket and called for help. When the Leaders arrived, they checked the baby bird over to make sure it wasn’t injured and returned it to the woodlands for its mother return. The group was relieved to see the mother return for her baby and the group continued their expedition.

The group thought quick to protect the baby bird from harm and were lucky the bird had a safe return to its family.

If you or your DofE group encounter any sick or injured wildlife please always contact the RSPCA as advised on their website.
