The South West Office administers several funds that are available to participants and groups based in the South West only. The funding available is limited, but we will always do our best to help if we can.
The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation
To advance the lives of, and help, young people across Dorset, Bournemouth & Poole who are linked to organisations or programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Please see their website for background information.
Applications are invited from young people currently engaged in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Dorset, Bournemouth & Poole. Applicants must be young people who, in the opinion of their DofE Leaders or Managers, are exceptional in some way and who uphold the values of the JTYAF.

DofE Applicants living in Bournemouth or Poole who are registered for DofE through Bournemouth or Poole Centres should request an application form from Sarah Roberts at the South West Regional Office, email [email protected]
All applications must be endorsed and supported by the participant’s Award Leader in writing and this must be emailed with the application form you will be sent. Please include info about the applicants DofE history with particular reference to the Volunteering section.

This charity supports organisations working with young people in the outdoors. They take donations of unwanted kit and offer them for free locally. You can follow them on twitter as Gift your Gear regularly advertise the latest donations on offer.
