This residential offers a chance to work as if you are in a small theatre company. Stretch your acting ability by creating and performing a new show in an amphitheatre on the beautiful Pembrokeshire Coast. In the event of Welsh mist (torrential rain), there is additional indoor rehearsal and performance space on site.
Theatre Companies need to be fed, so you will also learn how to cook three healthy and delicious main meals: – plus lunches, puddings and snacks, all on a tight budget. However… theatre companies are normally paid after a performance, so you will be treated to Fish and Chips on the last day (alternative options for vegetarians and vegans available).
Acting is a competitive field, so in addition to evening rehearsal and feedback sessions, we offer optional sessions on:
Targeting different audiences when creating work;
How to market and sell shows; and
Pitfalls to avoid when running small theatre companies or performing solo shows.
We want you to have fun, further develop your acting skills, and feel confident you can feed yourself when at Drama school, University or when trying to get work. This course is predominantly set up for participants aged 16-18. However you may be able to attend if you are 19-20, please get in touch, we will need to arrange separate accommodation and discuss DBS checks with your DofE coordinator.
