This Gold Residential takes place on Lihou Island, just off the west coast of Guernsey. The Island is only accessed by a tidal causeway which will open for the group to get across on Saturday 2 August 2014 and will only reopen on Friday 8 August at the end for the group to return. For the rest of the time the Island will be completely cut off from mainland Guernsey and so the Island will be your own!
The Residential is run by the Youth Commission and will be working closely with Richard Curtis, from the Lihou Charitable Trust, who maintains the house on the Island. During your stay on Lihou there will be many varied and challenging activities on offer. These will include community and environmental based project work for the Trust, as well as various activities such as climbing, abseiling, archery, swimming and coasteering. Accommodation will be in dorms in the house and you’ll be actively cooking and cleaning for yourselves as a group. Costs: £215 This includes all accommodation, food, activities and instruction/leadership. It does not include your travel to get to Guernsey. You will need to be at the causeway, no later than 4.30pm on 2 August. The Island will be inaccessible after 5.30pm.
