What our charity shop volunteers do:
Typical volunteering tasks in our charity shops include:
• serving customers
• sorting donated items
• creating eye-catching displays.
You could get involved in local charity events, including fashion shows and promotions.
You can volunteer in one of around 340 shops across the country, at our warehouse or in our eBay team (Winsford only).
Whatever your skills, whatever your passion, we have a role to suit you.
Young volunteers (aged 15 – 25) can also complete our young volunteer development pathway, SWAP. This pathway takes volunteers on a self-guided journey to achieve not only retail skills, but also life skills, confidence and basic employability skills. Please speak to your local shop team to find out more.
What we can offer you
Volunteering in one of our shops will give you the chance to:
• meet new people
• learn new skills
• do your bit for your local community.
There are lots of ways you can help and you can make the role your own. We’ll give you the training and support you need to flourish in your role. You could study for an NVQ or advance your skills with our volunteer development programme.
What you can expect:
You don’t need any experience and there’s no minimum commitment. Many volunteers spend a few hours a week helping out.
If you take part in our advanced volunteering programme you’ll be assigned a buddy or mentor. You will have the opportunity to track your progress as you learn new skills and increase your responsibilities.
You could specialise in communications, stock control or running a shop. Whether you are interested in a retail career or are looking to get more involved in your community, volunteer in one of our shops.
