Come along and help this historic protected environment.
The Canal and River Trust(CRT) are in charge of maintaining our waterways. The canal passes through Foxton Locks, which is the longest lock flight in the UK, there are TEN locks for boats to pass through the canal system.
This residential allows you help the local environment around the locks, to learn lock keeping as well as work on a protected ancient monument …. “the inclined plane”.
You will stay in tents in a camping field adjacent to the canal, enjoy 1st breakfast AND “hobbit style” 2nd breakfasts, then work in groups to improve the site and the environment around it.
Sandwich lunches are provided, then back to work in the afternoon before enjoying amazing food 2-3 course dinners, cooked over open fires.
Evenings are spent enjoying games and crafts as a group, and because it is Halloween, we will also be carving pumpkins to decorate the lock flight.
You will leave with lots of new skills, a sense of achievement and many new friends.
All food is included. Tents provided for those who need them.
