Complete Gold Expedition Programme

Participants will arrive in the morning of the 26th and the final expedition checks will be completed. This will include a kit check and relevant training. The first 2 days will consist of relevant walks and training to complete the practice element of the section. Following that at the start of day 3 the qualifying element will begin and be fully unsupported with groups being seen at checkpoints and via remote supervision. Young people will be allocated expedition groups and a route planning exercise completed for the expedition. Groups will then begin their expedition travelling through the Dark Peaks. This expedition will be supported by our DofE instructors who will support and supervise the expedition throughout the weekend to ensure you can complete the the qualifying expedition for your expedition section of your Award. This expedition will be unsupported and supervised via checkpoints and remote supervision.

This expedition is a complete programme for those wanting to complete both practice and assessed expeditions back to back.

Note: All participants need to provide their own personal kit and food for the entire expedition. Group kit such as tents, stoves, fuel, maps and compasses are provided. Participants also need to arrange their own transport to and from the expedition area. A full itinerary will be provided upon request.

Participants will be given their own tent and stove for the duration of the expedition and additional hygiene measures will be in place to offer extra hand washing facilities though the expedition.
