Dimensions UK – Volunteer Baking Buddy – Cardiff

Are you looking to volunteer in your local area? Do you enjoy baking and having a good chat over a cup of tea? Would you be happy to give a few hours each week to make a difference in someone else’s life? A person we support in Cardiff is looking for someone to come to his home once a week on a Monday to have a cup of tea and a chat and possibly do some baking together

About the role

Dimensions provides support for around 3,500 other people with learning disabilities and autism across the UK. We help them to live more independently and access their local communities.

We are looking for buddy’s who can commit to a couple of hours at least once a week for a minimum period of 6 months. This is the perfect opportunity to give a couple of hours doing something that will really make a difference to a person we supports life. No specific experience is required and training will be provided.

When you apply for the role one of our volunteering officers will contact you for an informal chat about your application, the role and to answer any questions you may have. We will then arrange a meet and greet where you will get to meet the person we support and then arrange good days and times to meet up.

We would ask the volunteer to commit to attending their role on a regular basis. Stability and routine are vital in supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism.

A DBS check will be required for this role. Two character references will also be required.

Activities will include
•Meeting up for a cup of tea
•Chatting and having fun.

Activities will not include

No financial assistance.

No personal care.
