We are looking for enthusiastic learning volunteers to join us and volunteer as part of our Learning and Development Team.
Dimensions and Learning Connect
Dimensions provide support for around 3,500 people with learning disabilities and autism across the UK. We support people to live as independently as possible and our volunteers play a vital role in our work.
Learning Connect is our interactive online learning platform available to all our staff. You’ll have the opportunity to work through a range of online training modules and your role will be to help our employees do the same.
About the role
We are looking for Learning Volunteers to support Dimensions colleagues with their learning needs. You will be required to support employees with the completion of E-learning modules and Classroom based training.
You may support someone with their learning who has any of the following support needs:
•Difficulties using IT
We are looking for volunteers in South Wales to cover the areas of Cardiff, Swansea and Bridgend. Your location can be flexible and you will be required to travel within your area to meet with the members of staff needing your help.
Two character references will be required for this role.
Activities will include:
•Supporting employees to complete online training
•Coaching through the Learning Connect content to read / guide through questions and answers
•Supporting individuals during classroom based training
•Supporting people to use IT equipment
•Travelling to Dimensions offices within your region
•Travelling to public places within your region that can provide a suitable learning environment (such as internet cafes)
•Working with practical assessment tools such as flashcards
•Attending a one day induction and completing training modules to get a full understanding of Dimensions and our model of support
•Supporting the completion of the online Care Certificate

•Passionate about helping people and improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism
•Has experience of coaching or teaching
•Has experience of social care
