Dog Rescue project in South Africa – Gold Residential with Pod Volunteer

Join Pod Volunteer to help the local team give dogs much needed care and attention in the beautiful coastal winelands outside of Cape Town

How can I help?

You can join the local team in providing care for rescued dogs at this incredible animal rescue centre. Although each day will differ, your usual roles will include feeding the dogs, taking them for walks, cleaning out their kennels and helping out with general maintenance around the centre.

One of the most important roles for volunteers is sitting and spending time with the dogs, so they receive much needed care and attention and get comfortable with human interaction. This also enables monitoring of their social behaviour and health!

When can I join?

The 1st or 15th of each month for placements of 2 weeks to 2 and a half months.

Where will I be living?

You will be staying in a modern apartment and sharing a room with 2 – 3 other volunteers. The apartment is based in Strand, a beautiful coastal town roughly 40 minutes from Cape Town.

You can use your long weekends to explore the Western Cape. Being so close to Cape Town means that you can take advantage of the sights and activities it has to offer such as Table Mountain, Robben Island, wine tasting and whale watching.

Placement fee

Volunteer placements start from £895 for 2 weeks. This includes accommodation, airport pick up and transfer to the project and a tour of Cape Town + planning your trip support from the Pod team.
