We are pleased to be able to offer a gold canoe expedition programme that will culminate in a qualifying expedition on the river Allier in France in 2021. Staff from Mountain Ash will travel with students on flights in and out of the UK. Flights are from Bristol Airport. The river Allier is in the stunning Massif Cenral and flows through some remote areas and small towns. It is a fast flowing river in some parts leading to an exciting and rewarding journey. All teams will be equipped with trackers.
Day 1, Monday 26th July. Depart Bristol Airport for Lyon at 1120am. Arrive Lyon and travel to Langeac our base. Total drive time around 2 hours. Camp overnight at fully equipped campsite.
Day 2, Spend a day exploring and preparing for the expedition. Camp overnight at fully equipped campsite.
Day 3,4,5,6 The expedition. Teams will canoe under remote supervision for 4 days and 3 nights. The camping will be a combination of wild campsites and commercial campsites.
Day 7, return to Lyon airport for 2.50pm flight home landing at Bristol at 3.35pm
What is included;
Training and Practice expedition over 4 days on the river Wye (UK), Date to be fixed.
Qualifying expedition in France (as above) with French transfers
All campsite fees.
Loan of all team expedition kit including tents, cookers, pans and gas.
Use of canoes and associated safety kit
What is not included;
Flights (currently @ £100 with Easyjet)
