If you’re looking to do something completely different for your Gold expedition then this could be for you!! We run Gold Expeditions by Bell Boat – this is a 30ft long catamaran style canoe designed for 12 people but we put upto 8 on there with all their kit.
The expedition package includes a training day in Tonbridge, Kent on the River Medway. We then do a 3 day practice expedition in Wiltshire on the Kennet and Avon Canal. We start in Pewsey and spend the first night camping in a pub garden in Wilcott. Night two is a wildcamp at a lock before finishing in Thatcham. Start and finish points are very close to train stations.
The qualifier expedition is on the River Thames. We meet at Runnymede, next to the M25. Over four days you’ll paddle 64 miles to Abingdon. Some might say this is an easy expedition but you’ll be paddling against a flow of 4.1m per minute (as confirmed by some recent Golds as part of their expedition aim) so there’s no resting I’m afraid!!
Our next package is great for anyone wanting to avoid exam periods. The dates are as follows:
Training Day – Saturday 19th October 10am – 3pm
Practice Expedition – Tuesday 22nd to Thursday 24th October
Qualifier Expedition – Wednesday 22nd to Saturday 25th July 2020
