Well-being? Mindfulness? Resilience? You’ve probably heard all these words at school or at home recently but what do they mean and how do we ‘get’ them?!
Growing minds is an online well-being and mindfulness course which you can start at any time and work at your own pace. All you need is a notebook and an open mind!
Growing Minds is a well-being programme I set up in 2013 in schools. It incorporates mindfulness activities, stretching, self-massage, breathing techniques, affirmations and relaxation. Evidence shows that this can help young people decrease stress and anxiety, increase attention span and boost creativity.
Growing Minds uses teaching around positive psychology which can support young people’s self-esteem and resilience to help approach new or tricky situations with increased confidence. Growing Minds is for everyone, you might want to develop self- confidence, self-awareness and understanding of how to keep yourselves emotionally healthy with a variety of ‘tools’ at your disposal.
This online course will help you learn how the brain works and take part in activities to strengthen mental health and wellbeing. You’ll be able to use your creative skills to journal your thinking, take photographs and make things. It provides the building blocks for understanding and developing a growth mindset and each course will be individual to you and will become what you make it!
