Work with the National Trust on Kinver Edge – a high sandstone ridge and hill fort overlooking dramatic red sandstone rock houses. An area of specific scientific interest due to its rare lowland heath. You will help to Maintain this area of outstanding beauty.
You will be creating woodland ‘rides’ for the benefit of species such as the white admiral butterfly and helping to preserve and make homes for bees and tiny plants. You will help to clear scrubland and preserve the Lowland Heath habitat where invertebrates, birds and reptiles thrive.
You will also be involved with the upkeep and development of the famous sandstone rock houses – a vital part of the industrial history of the local area.
Evenings will include sessions on the climbing tower; greenwood carving lessons; and bonfires and hot chocolate while toasting marshmallows.
