Work with the National Trust on Kinver Edge – a high sandstone ridge and hill fort overlooking dramatic red sandstone rock houses.
Help to maintain this area of outstanding beauty and SSSI. Heathland such as Kinver Edge is now an increasingly rare habitat in Europe. Important for reptiles, birds, bats, moths, heathland has great ecological value. The focus is on looking after this rare lowland heath. The NT are working hard to maintain the heathland and carrying out an ambitious restoration project to provide nesting opportunities for nightjars and reptile species.
This residential also includes the upkeep and development of the famous sandstone rock houses – a vital part of the industrial history of the local area.
As we stay in huts at the local Scout Campsite, evening activities include rock climbing, abseiling and zip-wire on the climbing tower and other evening activities such as problem-solving games and bonfires with music (bring your guitar or ukulele), hot chocolate – and toasted marshmallows of course.
