Head for the Hill (An AALA and DofE approved Activity Provider) are running a Gold Open Practice and Qualifying expedition in the Peak District on Monday 29th May – Sat 3rd June 2023

This expedition will consist of a 2-day Practice followed by 4-day Qualifier – an option for those who consider themselves fit and physically confident about walking in the hills for 6 days.

Practice involves reviewing and improving navigation, teamwork and campcraft skills in the beautiful Hope Valley for the 2 day expedition with highly qualified and supportive instructors.

Qualifying will see groups heading out onto the Dark Peak for the 4 day expedition with remote supervision in place to ensure safety while allowing independent group travel.

Campsites: Glenbrook Outdoor Activity Centre, Hope Valley, S33 OAL; Upper Booth Campsite, Edale, S337ZJ; Lockerbrook Outdoor Centre, Snake Pass, Bamford, S33 OBJ
Equipment such as tents, trangia stoves, maps, compasses and groups first aid kits will be provided by Head for the Hill. You will need to provide a rucksack and sleeping bag if possible – although we can lend you these as well. You will need a lightweight raincoat and walking boots.

Training: A training day will be scheduled on an agreed date at Kinver Edge, South Staffordshire or in an area near you.
