Introduction to Navigation (Bronze NNAS)

Our Introduction to Navigation course will give you the skills needed to navigate using straight line features such as tracks, boundary fences and rivers. You will learn the basics of map reading, including how to understand a range of map symbols, plan and follow routes in the countryside and work out where you are if you do happen to get lost. This course would be suitable for those operating in low lying countryside such as the Chilterns, Forest of Dean and New Forest. Over the 2 days you will have the opportunity to earn the National Navigation Award Scheme Bronze Award.

Next Step Navigation (Silver NNAS)

The Next Step Navigation course is aimed at people who have completed our Introduction to Navigation course or who already have a basic understanding of map reading. You will develop more advanced and accurate navigation techniques, taking you further from the beaten track. This course would suit those taking Silver groups into terrain such as the Black Mountains, Peak District and Snowdonia. Successful completion of the course will lead to you earning the National Navigation Award Scheme Silver Award.
