How does it work?
Once we have received your payment we’ll email you a link to:
– our easy-to-prepare recipes to include a variety of cooking techniques to help you prepare your food from scratch
– Equipment lists for each recipe
– Helpful hints & tips
– Skills checklist
– Feedback form
– Access to our ‘Cook at Home’ Facebook page where you’ll find our ‘Boss the Basics’ skills videos which demonstrate some key skills that every beginner cook should know to become confident in the kitchen
We will be available to offer email support to your son or daughter for the duration of the course to answer any questions they may have. On completion, you will need to email us your DofE ID number for verification and we’ll issue a certificate and complete the final assessors report online for each student.
Can I do a DofE course with a friend?
Of course – cooking with friends is a great way to have fun. Just make sure you both book your place or only one of you can be assessed.
Can I choose my recipes?
You can choose from our list of either sweet or savoury recipes and just in case you don’t like our suggestions, we’re happy for you to choose something similar – just let us know in advance what you’d like to cook and we can make sure it ticks the ‘technique’ box of skills.
When does the course start?
This is a 3 or 6 month course which begins on your chosen date. Your son or daughter will need to source their own ingredients and cook one recipe each week. All we ask is that they complete our feedback form for each recipe together with photographic evidence of everything they cook at the end of the course.
Where will I find the recipes?
As soon as you’ve paid we’ll send you a link to your easy-to-make recipes together with a copy of our skills checklist and feedback form.
