British Exploring Society – Kyrgyzstan Ready to Explore – North Wales and Kyrgyzstan

British Exploring Society has over 93 years of experience in youth expeditions. Complete your Gold Residential, make friends, learn new skills and discover your potential on the Kyrgyzstan expedition programme.

This expedition will wake you up to high-altitude trekking, as you explore the isolated peaks, wild-flower meadows and unique landscape of Kyrgyzstan.

Taking part in exploration, science and media projects – you’ll work together on a high-altitude adventure, exploring dramatic ridge lines, lush valleys and meeting the nomadic Kyrgyz herders who are kindly hosting our basecamp in their pastures. As night falls, you will cook dinner and reflect around a campfire, exchanging stories of spotting wildlife such as golden eagles and ibex – and maybe even the elusive snow leopard.

While the expedition and training week are free of charge, we do ask all participants to fundraise £1,250 – £5,500, dependent on household income.

Course date:
23rd May - 27th May North Wales and 26th July - 27th August Kyrgyzstan
Course location:
North Wales and Kyrgyzstan
Course fee:
Free, with fundraising target based on household income
