This Gold Qualifying expedition takes place in the Lake District, England. The Lake District is a fantastic place for Gold expeditions, with beautiful scenery, lots of campsites and miles and miles of paths that criss-cross the landscape, giving plenty of options for an expedition group to plan a route that suits them. Participants will be expected to travel to the Lake District – to Keswick – the day before on 9 August, 3:30pm. The night before the expedition starts we will stay at Braithwaite Bridges campsite near Keswick. You can get to Keswick by bus from Penrith where there is a train station, or get a lift from Glasgow in our minibus. On 10 August the expedition begins. All of the camps are serviced campsites. The end point will be determined by which route you decide, however we will provide minibus transport at the end of the expedition back to Glasgow or the nearest train station (e.g. Penrith or Windermere). Included in the price is campsite fees and hire of equipment (we provide tents, stoves, gas canisters, map cases and rucksack liners). The cost of the expedition is £225.
