Training & Expedition
Duration: 6 Days – Consisting of 2 days training & 4 day practice expedition.
Description: Why not choose a different way to beginning your expedition ‘journey’? Take the load off your feet and enjoy the countryside that the UK has to offer from a different view.
You don’t have to have any previous canoeing knowledge, as this will all be taught to you during our progressive training and practice expedition, giving you the knowledge of how to control your boat and be safe on the water.
You will normally paddle a canoe in a team of two. The training phase will help you meet and get to know your paddling partner if you haven’t met them before and allow you time to plan your expedition.
Core expedition skills will be taught and revisited and given a tweak to help you in the water environment. All canoeing equipment, a dry barrel for your expedition kit and campsite fees are included in the price.
You can attend our open assessment if you have previously attended one of our training and practice expeditions or can prove that you have completed the required training and practice expeditions with another AAP or Licensed Organisation.
We allow for 1 days training just to make sure everyone is happy and up to date with the skills required to control your boat and be safe on the water. It will also allow you to meet the rest of your team and get together and plan the final details of your expedition before starting out on your adventure the next day.
All canoeing equipment, a dry barrel for your expedition kit and campsite fees are included in the price.
