A residential with a difference…
This Adventure Expeditions residential is ideal for young people who have a keen interest in the outdoors – whether you are new to the outdoors, want to develop your existing skills or are thinking of a career in the outdoors. It is run by our experienced Mountaineering Instructors who believe that delivering the highest quality of training can inspire young people for life.
The itinerary has been set with both enjoyment and quality in mind. Participants will gain an outdoor first aid certificate and a NNAS Award (National Navigation Award Scheme) as part of the residential.
Below is an example itinerary. This may change depending on the weather and your group.
Day 1 – Climbing on the gritstone edges that Derbyshire is famous for. Get to know your group.
Day 2 – Explore the underground environment of a local mine or cave system – be prepared to get mucky!
Day 3 – Carry out an outdoor first aid course and come away with a useful qualification. Night navigation walk or evening bouldering session.
Day 4 – Moorland adventure: A day to explore and perfect your navigation for the NNAS Award with an intro to scrambling.
Day 5 – Travel to Snowdonia. Scrambling or climbing in the afternoon/ evening, complete NNAS Award.
Day 6 – Full day of mountain adventure. Scrambling along one of Wales’ famous mountain ridges.
Day 7 – Climbing session or gorge scramble in the morning, travel back in the afternoon.
